Maaruvedam Guidelines

● Maaruvedam character (social theme/Tamil scholar/teacher/leader) that the child would be portraying on Children day Events.
● We strongly encourage characterization relating to culture, language, and social themes.
● Please refrain from portraying any religious or polticial affliation characters
● Each participant gets 45 seconds to 60 seconds to go on stage and say a few words/one line dialogue as to who they are representing.

Dance Guidelines

● For general: Dance time limited to 3.5 to 4 minutes per dance entry group of 4 and below, We are strongly encouraged to enroll at least 4 people in a group.
● For 7-9 participants: Dance time limited to 5 to 6 minutes per dance
● For 10+ participants: Dance time limited to 5 to 8 minutes per dance based on their theme dance.
Please refrain from portraying any religious or polticial affliation

Drama Guidelines

● Duration: Due to the overwhelming response and time constraints, it is imperative for the drama time to be limited to 10 minutes or less based on the number of themes and participants.

● Special Setup Needs: Please email us if you need any special stage setup or sound requirements for your performance. We appreciate your quick response since we need more time to accommodate your special setup needs.

Speech Competitions Guidelines

● Your speech should highlight your concept and understanding of the topic provided.
● Limit your speech to 2 minutes.

Thirukkural Kathaigal Competitions Guidelines

● Be prepared to recite one Kural (of your choice) from any 1 of the following Athigarams as requested by the competition judge:
● Explain in Thamizh the meaning of the Kural you picked through a story or personal experience
● Please avoid references to religion/movies when sharing your story/experience.
● Limit your story/ experience to 2 minutes

MC participant(s)

● You will be provided with written event MC notes from the Children’s Day Committee by Dec 6th (Note: Event scheduled for Dec 13th)
● We will contact you over the phone individually for 2-3 practice sessions (where you would be rehearsing your lines with a committee member).

Drawing Competitions

● Drawing competitions will be held in a classroom area and 45 mins before the Children’s day program on Dec 6th.
● Duration of the contest – 45 mins.
● The Competition’s theme will be shared to each registered participant 10 days before the program.

Pattimandram Guidelines

● 3 speakers on each side. All the speakers should speak in Tamil. The order of speakers and show will take its course based on Naduvar discretion.
● The selected speakers should prepare bullet points of items to speak for 2 minutes at least two weeks ahead of event day and be available via phone to discuss with fellow team members

Music Program Guidelines
